Born into a Georgia Tech family, Steve Harkey’s father was in Bobby Dodd’s first recruiting class and he himself, was on Dodd’s last. Growing up encompassed by football and spiritual guidance, which were seeds that were planted early in life, Harkey decided to devote his career to impact the lives of youth through sports and ministry.
In 1993 Steve started Coach’s Corner of Metro Atlanta, a concept that was adopted from Coach’s Corner Sports Ministries led by former college & NFL coach Bobby Lankford in Marietta, GA. Two years later, Coach’s Corner of Metro Atlanta incorporated and obtained IRS 501(c)(3) Tax Exempt Status.
Steve Harkey and the Coach’s Corner team have been serving, and encouraging Atlanta’s coaches for more than 12 years. Coach’s Corner is a Service Ministry that seeks to support every coach’s leadership role as well as the day to day challenges they may face.
