Washington High School is located in the inner city of Atlanta. Employment opportunities are very scarce and Coach Rodney Cofield let Coach’s Corner know they were going to fall short of their goal to send all of their players to camp. Coach’s Corner’s Project Nehemiah connected Coach Cofield with a network partner and successful home builder Frank Tetterton who had some landscaping opportunities. The Washington players boarded a bus and provided the labor necessary to landscape a 20 acre estate in Duluth, Ga. The job was so enormous that they raised the money necessary to send all the players to football camp. Home Depot supplied all the equipment necessary to complete the job and Chick-fil-A supplied the food. It takes community teamwork to make our youth’s dream work.
