Georgia Tech’s former athletic director, Dr. Homer Rice, originally conceived the Total Person concept. It was his belief that excellence is a result of a balanced life that encompasses academic excellence, athletic achievement and personal well being.
The Total Person Program provides many opportunities for the student-athlete to achieve their potential in all areas of their lives.
Dear friend of Atlanta’s youth and coaches:
I have endorsed Steve Harkey’s Coach’s Corner (Total Person Power) program because I have seen the positive work he is doing for the coaches and students of Metro Atlanta and other areas. We are fortunate that we have a dedicated person of Steve’s qualities providing a ministry for these people. We all remember Steve’s exploits at Georgia Tech and New York Jets as a star football player, but his work with young people is even greater.
Steve needs us to help him with this very important program. God has given him the direction and we need to give him our support. Let me encourage you to respond to his needs through counseling, support of coaches and players, through prayer, resources and referrals. We must help Steve keep his program going and in so doing, we are contributing to the welfare of young people throughout our area. Steve will be contacting you in the near future. Please lend your support. Thank you.
Respectfully yours,
Homer Rice
